Firstly, I apologised for my non-existent comic strip in this post as I had forgotten about this due to the busy workload I had. Regardless of that, I still hope you enjoy this piece from me.
Do you love ice cream? It’s hard to come by a person who dislike ice cream. The chilling and creamy sensation running through your mouth and throat, it’s simply amazing and it might be the closest thing to the taste of ambrosia. I was invited earlier to the Stickhouse opening in Sunway Pyramid and I did not know what really to expect from them.
But then, if it’s ice cream then it would good right? But for Stickhouse, it’s not about being delicious but also healthy. Currently, they already have ice cream parlours in all over the world in more than 30 cities. They have a strong fan base in many places such as Europe, Middle East and Asia while expanding their territory over here in Malaysia besides Singapore, Seoul, Jakarta and many more.
So what exactly is their selling point? What Stickhouse is trying to do? Stickhouse gelato is made from 100% natural and genuine ingredients without adding any artificial coloring, preservatives and flavouring. And for the curious ones, these are the list of the ingredients they used.
Inulin – A vegetable fibre extracted from chicory, inulin increases the absorption of calcium, aids digestion, and reduces cholesterol.
Fructose – A low glycemic index (GI) natural product contained in fruits, honey and some vegetables and plants. It’s suitable for fine recipes and light diets.
Carob Bean Flour – They are a wonderful gift of nature. Recommended for digestive disorders. In the ice-cream recipe they work as a natural stabilizer.
Sodium Caseinate – It’s a high quality protein product obtained by fresh pasteurized skimmed milk.
Egg White – It’s an excellent pure protein source with a high biological value, fat free. In the ice cream recipe, it helps to blend air into the mixture, naturally.
WIthout wasting anymore space, let me review what’s their ice cream had installed for you.
Honestly, I wasn’t much a fan of sorbet as some sorbet I had tasted are slightly bland in taste. Stickhouse’s sorbet selections are beg to differ. They have a strong and flavourful taste of the fruits used that would sure to make fruit lovers go wild. Even the strawberry flavor had a hint of sourness in it unlike most strawberry ice cream which obviously lacks of its original strawberry taste.
I’m not gonna lie. They are delicious. In fact, they are very good. The creamy and flavourful texture is just too good to be true. I had one whole chocolate gelato coated with their high quality chocolate and the finished with bits of pistachio nuts on the coating. How do I actually describe it? The crunchy bits of pistachio nuts as you sink your teeth on it is accompanied by the flavorful chocolate coating. Then you will reach the cooling and creamy texture of gelato. Blend it together, it’s like a good piece of art in form of ice cream. If you don’t fancy their chocolate coating, there’s also white chocolate coating for your eating pleasure.
There are many flavour available here in stickhouse. I will list it down for you.
Gelato
Classic Range:
1. Chocolate
2. Vanilla
3. Milk
4. Yogurt
5. Soy
Premium Range:
1. Giandula (mix of hazelnut and chocolate)
2. Hazelnut
3. Strawberry Cream
4. Green Tea
5. Coffee
6. Pistachio
7. Yogurt strawberry
8. Soy Chocolate

10. Hazelnut Natura (no sucrose sugar)

2. Pineapple
3. Lemon
4. Orange
5. Watermelon
Premium Range:
1. Grape

3. Mango
4. Blueberry
5. Kiwi
My recommendation for Sorbet is Mango and Strawberry and be warned if you took the lemon sorbet. It’s sourness is not something you can take lightly of. If you genuinely liked sourish lemon and not those sweet lemon ice cream available everywhere, this ice cream if for you.
My recommendation for Gelato is the coffee, chocolate, hazelnut, hazelnut natura and giandula. Even without sucrose sugar, the hazelnut natura tasted just as good.
Another selling point of Stickhouse ice cream is their manufacturing process of the ice cream. Usually in making ice cream, air will be added into the ingredient in order to produce a high volume of ice cream. A normal ice cream would have about 120% air added while even good quality ice cream had 50% air added in it. On the other hand, gelato had about 25% of air added in their ingredients as well. While doing this, the orginal taste of the ice cream is lost and hence artificial coloring and flavoring are used to enhance the taste of the ice cream. For Stickhouse ice cream, they added absolutely ZERO PERCENTAGE of air in it and this means the taste of their gelato is 100% genuine.

I wish there's a Stickhouse branch here in the Philippines. I'm an ice cream addict and I like this store. Great idea to put up an ice cream business.
